Rats are everywhere it's just that normally you don't see them. Yes I've seen them, I'm not really worried much because I don't eat anything from the UCD stores.

Rats!!!!????? I've never seen a rat in my life out in UCD but if there are rats, Jeysuus thats a serious problem. Who do report something like taht to, UNICARE? Seriously if any of you guys ee rats again report that immediately because that is a serious issue in terms of health and safety.

They put down rat traps but those curious arts students kept getting drawn to the "free cheese"

Theres loads and loads of them on the cycle track beside the sports pitches (the ones by the sports centre). Its disgusting actually - you'd be walking along and one would run out of the bushes onto the path in front of you, whether its daytime or evening, although they seem to do it more often in the evening. And they're huge as well!

one of the lads who works in the student bar was saying he was watching them clearing all the bushes around teh sports centre during the summer and teh rats were fleeing everywhere.

But it is the countryside, with ample food. WHat do you expect?

Maybe if UCD get themselves a few tigers, the rat problem might just sort itself out.

    That's just a myth

    sorry :(

What should we use to kill the tigers after there is a massive boom in their population :O!

apparently, the current foliage destruction (ripping up bushes etc.) that's going on around the campus is because of the rats.

I'm sure all the filth ucd accumulates makes it a rat haven, plenty of places to hide, lots to eat.

I'm worried they'll find some of the Science Depts waste and mutate into giant super-intelligent rats and enslave the human race.

Nah,giant super-intelligent rats aren't anything to be afraid of.Didn't you watch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?Splinter was great! :)

    propaganda and lies!

Splinter was a human crossed with a rat, though a giant rat in appearance, he remained essentially human. These super rats of the future are pure rat, and they're absoloute b@stards!

    BE AFRAID!

dont think its enough yet. the path between the lake and the new chemistry site is one of the worst parts on campus. usually see a rat or two a day running across the path down there. ditto behind compsci,

I guess its a choice between grey utalitarian ucd or over-grown jurassic park ucd.

A few years back I was looking out my office window and saw the freakiest rat I've ever seen. White head (as if it was grafted on) with a kind of brown, black, red body. Not to mention lumps of fur missing. I can't comment on its intelligence but it was definitely freaky. Reckon it was a cross between a local rat and an escaped labrat.

They mostly come out at night, mostly.

Was walking down the country a couple of years ago with my girlfriend and we saw a rat. She told me she was worried of just that happening because "rats like tight holes". Oh how we laughed. (apologies, but it is a true story)
