im sure this has been asked before but what site(s) do you lads think is/are the most profitable??

at the moment i only play on ladbrokes (i think the general consensus is its one of the tougher ones) but am thinking of expanding my horizons. someone told me some american sites are full of people calling all-ins with J high etc. but im a little wary of what ive heard about cashing out. ideally id like my visa card to be credited (incidentally what other sites do this apart from ladbrokes and vc?)

    cheers.

The american sites are more fishy than most. None will allow you to cash back to visa though. Party can pay to Switch if you have a UK account. Pokerstars will Fed ex you a sterling chq. Alternatively set up a neteller account and use it to link up poker accounts then you can move any winnings from american sites to ladbrokes and cash out as normal.

Noble Poker seems to be easy but be prepared from some bad beats, I just got hammered there

    Ah8h

    Flop As Ac Jh

    Turn 9h

player bets 10 I go all-in he calls

River is Qh giving me the A high flush...and him with his KTh the straight flush..

Victor Chandler will pay in and out with a Credit Card, or even a Laser Card of all things.

Not with a mastercard they won't! They will transfer the money directly to a bank account though, free of charge.

Apparently empire or coral will also transfer back to CC. They are the same as party, just a different skin.

Hey Shortstack, whats the go with the net teller account? Can I say for example transfer 200 from my pacific poker account into a VC account and then from VC to my Credit Card? This sounds good!

You can as far as I am aware. Different sites take different times to credit neteller though. Never used Pacific so don't know how quick they are.

This is a question I have been meaning to ask, would you prefer to play with Fish or good players...personally I would prefer to play with good players, reading can often be easier, with a fish, he will call with any two cards and that can be lethal.

Last nights 25 Cash game in the Fitz had quite a few Fish, one of them (who I will nick name Gambl0r) cracked my KK with QKs/o (can't quite remember) by flopping the nut straight.

6% chance he had as QQ was another hand in play and he takes both of us out. sick.

Really wasn't a night for KK I saw it being cracked by 55 who floped quads (old guy Alex) did a deal with him on the STT and that covered my loss on the BJ table and cash game..

note to self... stay away from blackjack.

After that hand I didn't even consider re-buying as the standard of play was a joke. (Mark tell me he lost all his chips one hour later? And CURSE YOU for dealing that straight ;)) Fish don't tip well either :)

There are alot of fish on small stakes VC (but be careful there are some, not an abundance) Bet365 is jam packed with Fish can be dangerous playing there.

Empire - Jesus well lets say It's Blue whale feeding territory but again very dangerous.

If you hit the nut flush on the turn, don't push all your chips in unless the board does not pair on the river (lost $700 in one hand to a guy who called my all in with trips and 4 spades on the board of which he had none.)

This cannot be a totally serious question can it?
Of course you want as many fish as possible at your table, why would you want to play against good player, who might be much better than you and thus take your money.
At the poker table money flows from bad players to good players.

Give me a freeroll standard cash game table anyday, they will suck out and outdraw you every now and then but long term they pay for your coke and hookers.

why would you want to play against good player

To constantly improve my play, you are not going to get very far playing against fish day in day out.....

Do you want to improve or make money? I agree you need to play against better players to improve but what is your main goal when playing poker?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,476 ✭✭✭Samba

To make money of course but I'd like to able to do so amongst the best players

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭Lafortezza

Why's that? The higher the quality of players at your table the less money you'll make! I think I see what you're saying but don't agree with it fully :)

Im used to playing on ladbrokes which is a good standard with the odd muppet thrown in.

A balance of both at the table Is a good thing, means easy money.

But there is nothing worse than being muppeted!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭Lafortezza

I would have thought that a table of muppets would mean more nasty outdraws but a hell of alot more money over time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,476 ✭✭✭Samba

You are right, but catch a few bad runs and it can hurt

have a m8 who has been playing on laddies for three years now, plays full time, I saw him go through a period of nearly a month solid of muppet beats.. it can happen

watch him play, tought me a few things. He is where i learn't my cautious approach from. mofflowis (the nutter plays 8 tables at a time between 365 and laddies)

I agree with Samba, it is always good to have a fish or two at the table, but if there is too many of them you will get outdrawn too often. I prefer a mix of good players and fish at a table.

cheers for the help. funnily enough - i emailed vc support about cashing out onto a visa and got the following response:

    Dear Customer,

    Thank you for your reply,

Please be advised that the poker site does indeed do cashouts to visa cards, however this does depend on the location of the player, as certain countries do not allow cashouts to cards from gaming site's ( i.e U.S.A, Eire and Australia).

If you play from the U.K or any other unrestricted country then the cashout will to back to your card within a few hours of making the request.

Please quote your poker room username at all times.

    Kind Regards,

    Graham Mowlam

V Strange considering I have cashed out from VC onto my CC before...

I think all the people who play on VC from these boards use Irish Visa cards, I know I do, never had any trouble cashing out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,666 ✭✭✭Imposter

Might it be that you are registered a long time and so you are allowed cashouts to Visa but all newer customers cannot do this?

vc don't cash out onto irish mastercards (irish gaming laws) visa might be different. for mastercard users, they use telegraphic transfer which transfers the money directly into your bank a/c which is relatively quick (2/3 days) and involves very little hasle.

Yep but some are having problems getting money back to Visa while others do not have this problem.

I only signed up to VC with my irish Visa CC about 2 weeks ago, no trouble at all.
