    Hi

have a few cue and bin files and want to burn them to dvd

Do i have to join the ..bin files together ?
Also what is the .cue files for ?
Heard of VCDEasy and VCdgear good or are there any others ?
Heard one of them has spyware??

Is it worth it then using Tmpgenc to join them or does the sound audio go out of synch ?

Have Nerovision does it automatically convert the format to dvd compatibility ?

    Ta

if you use nero it will automatically convert the cue files into a vcd,
i dont think you can join them as they are a disc image, unless you want to decode them, then join them, but that would take forever.

to burn them use nero to "burn from disc image" or somethinglike that..
then browse to the .cue file and select that. it will then burn the .bin file onto a cd, and hey presto you have a vcd..

afaik there is no easy way to convert from .cue files into dvd format files..
    but im probably wrong.

Try downloading a copy of a program called Alchohol 120%, you burn .cue & .bin files with that :D

It is probably a VCD or SVCD that u downladed. If u have nero it will use the cue file to copy the movie on to a standard cd which u can use in most DVD players.

Great site for all ur burning needs is www.afterdawn.com , they have guides at www.afterdawn.com/guides/

    Hi

Just a newbie trying to learn the trade

Want one continous film however the .bin file sizes are

763,799kb & 691,491kb and waiting on one more

Could these possible fit onto a dvd-r of 4.7gb

If not what are my options 2 discs ?

Any software to reduce size ?

    Cheers

Fitting video files onto dvd-r is all about 'transcoding' the files to dvd format. With all transcoding apps you can usually select the compression ratio to allow you to 'squeeze'
the video content onto a 4.7GB disc. So yes they should fit but remember the more compression the less the video quality. Look at www.doom9.org for guides etc on this sort of stuff. :)

Not necessarily. If you mount the bin+cue files using a virtual CD drive, and copy off the large MPG file onto your harddrive (from each disc) you can then just burn those both onto a DVD as regular data. A dvd player should have no problem playing those one after another.

(assuming its a (S)VCD you want to merge).

Not sure I agree with last poster. To play on a 'standard' dvd plater the files need to be in VOB, IFO etc format, this is the DVD standard. Some newer players support Divx files which are pure data files.

    Simple way,
use nero to make cd from the cue files.
use nerovision to make a dvd from the two cd's ( will take a few/good few hours)
maybe nero recode to fit dvd to 4.7GB

    Other way
Isobuster to extract the data from bin files to HDD
nerovision to compile both files into one continous DVD and burn as above.

The cue file is usually very small, but it references the BIN file. (open the cue file in notepad and you'll see) So when you're burning or mounting these files, select the cue file if you can.

"You can do it when you bin and cue it":D

He's burning (S)VCD compliant files, if his DVD player can play (S)VCD's (burnt on CDR), then his DVD player should have no problem playing the same video files when they're burnt on a DVDR.

Unless the player stupidly assumes that if a DVD is inserted, it has to have DVD compliant files on it (i.e. vobs).

So NeroVision can convert the bin files to dvd or mpeg...?

I can then burn these files to the hard drive and join them with Tmpgenc,
    correct ?

Then use DVD shrink to try to get it onto one dvd-r ?

Would this effect quality / audio synch and would this work ?

Just jam the MPG files onto a DVD as Mutant Fruit said, they don't have to be in.VOB format, I have three DVD set tops and not one of them would refuse to play a .MPG stream, because DVDs are MPG streams.

Check your DVD players manual, if it says (S)VCD compliant anywhere you're in the clear for simply dragging and dropping into Nero and burning the disc as normal data. Though make sure the filenames are sequential, ie "MPEG_VIDEO1", "MPEG_VIDEO2" etc.

look, its all simple, use the image drive that came with alcohol 120% to mount the bin+cue images, open the image drive in my computer and copy its contents to a folder on the HD of your choice, do this for all the cue+bin images, when you have all the files removed from the bin+cue file into folders use "nero recode 2" and select all the vid files you want to but together in a batch conversion to any or DVD, MPG or MGEG-2 formats nero recode provides, then burn it to a disk and have fun, or do i need to make it any simpler, in the case where the image files are copyies of dvd's you can select the PCG of the movie using nero recode aswell, or does it need to be explained in a more simple way!

keep in mind you may need a nero 6 keygen to activate the codec's that were bundled with it, the activation keys are entered in the smart startup program, in the bottom right theres an icon for a form that enters the keys
