I tried to buy a laptop off them a while back and they wouldn't accept my foreign ie Irish credit card. They wanted a bank draft sent across. It was too much hassle so I got it off dabs (worked out to be about 2 quid dearer in the end)

I have bought 2 Acer laptops from these guys and didnt have too many problems. Paid using electronic bank transfer direct to their account.

Takes a while to clear but apparently thats down to the slowness of the Irish banking system.

Very pleased with both machines, shipping is reasonable if I remember, plus thay offer an extended warrenty for £99 where Acer will collect, repair and return your laptop for free if you have any problems.

That warrenty is a general Acer Warrenty that you can get anywhere. Laptopshop arn't the cheapest around in the UK so I would def google a bit and talk to a few others.

As Padlad said the differences in price usually balance out when it comes to delivery. Laptopshop quoted me an absolutely ridiculous price of £89 for delivery of one machine. Acernotebooks direct were much better on postage but slightly more expensive for the machine itself. E-buyers and Dabs were the same.

If it's Acer you're after there's an irish online retailer (not Elara) that does them for the same price as the UK retailers except for the VAT rate pushing the price up by 3.5%, but you save on the delivery so it all evens out...

When we were buying we were doing i in the UK so delivery was no big deal (actually it arived to the UK address today via an over night courier). We did save at least £100 by shopping around but dont know all the details yet as my GF's brother was dealing with the actual buying. Laptop Shop were pis pure to deal with and hey wouldn't selll him the laptop because they couldn't find his company on their list of UK Companies. He asked wherwe they get their list and they wouldn't tell him so they basicly wouldn't sell it to him and wouldn't help him fix the problem. Went to another seller and did the deal straight away for less.
