Quick question ... Can iTunes be used (off PC) to install onto two different iPods, or is it hardware specific? If not, can two separate iTunes programs be installed on the same PC for downloads to two separate iPods?

you can use the same iTunes for 2 iPods. But if you don't want everything off the library make sure to change the settings to manually manage your ipod
