    hi guys I have the motek motor on my dish. I am having some difficulty setting it up.

    I live at latidude 51'58'' so iset the motor angle to be 52 degrees and the LIDL dish angle to be 22.5 degrees.

    I then move the motor to point towards the general direction of south and then manually try and drive the dish to point to astra2 using the button on the motor. The angle on the motor ends up o be about 40 degrees by the time i have the dish pointed in the direction of astra2 but i recieve no reception. ciould it be to do with the angle of the lnb? or is the problem something else?

    also when trying to find other satellites does the reciever need to have a channel from that satellite tuned in in order to find it?

    hope ye can help

    Yes it would.

    Do you have a satfinder? If not, get your hands on one as it takes all the hard work out of it.

    Set the elevation in accordance with your location - then try and tune in the satellite that is due south of your location. For anyone in ireland, that should be Atlantic Bird2 if i remember correctly.

    Also, it is imperative that the mount is 100% vertical or your setup will be out either on the extreme east or west. Once you have your initial satellite tuned in with the motor set at 0, then try and tune in the extremeties - as this will let you know whether your setup is off or dead accurate.

    If you look in the menu for moter settings you will notice that you have to move the dish EAST and WEST first to find the satellites.

    SO !!!

    You are sitting on ASTRA 2 .
    Go in the menu and in moter settings -astra 1.
    Type in DATA if none is present for astra 1
    move the dish west with the RCU until you get signal.( on the meter in the receiver)

    If outside on the moter ASTRA 2 is say 36 then astra 1 will be 26 or there abouts.

    Wheb you have signal on astra 1---go outside and make sure that the dish has moved .SAVE and search.;
