Does anyone hear speak Cork? I don't understand a word of that. I think it has something to do with a LCD.

DVI = Digital Video Interface... It means the connection between your card and monitor if digital... supposed to be better and I would imagine the benefits would be more noticable on LCD screens.

iv hooked both types up on dell machines (with lcd screens)..and in all honesty i couldnt tell the difference (20/20 vision btw :))

there may be some other difference, but visually i couldnt tell the difference...

Same here. I've 20/20 vision and could not spot any difference in quality between analog and digital connections to a 20" Dell UltraSharp monitor.

its cos dell do fairly sh*t lcd screens in all honesty...

It depends on the lcd, but if the lcd has implemented it well, a dvi connection is much clearer and sharper. I have a 20.1" viewsonic myself, and also another 17" Hyundai, and both are much clearer via DVI.

Alot of cheaper monitors come without DVI, which is a pity, as in theory, DVI is cheaper to implement as its all digital, no ramdac's are needed on the video card, and the analogue data doesn't have to be reconverted at the monitor side either.

Also, it would be fairly strange to see a crt type screen with a dvi connection. I haven't seen one myself (tho thats not to say they don't exist :)). Alot of TV's now will probably see a push towards HDMI cables for audio and sound, which is basically a more rigid DVI spec, with digital sound on the same cable.
