Parties are a factor in my choice of college. Are there many/any house parties in nuim? Whats the on campus accomodation like? do security/anybody stop you drinking in your rooms at night or anything?

It really depends on who ur room-mates are.

yup depends on the housemates. In my houes there is a party nearly everynight. There was a mini one last night where my housemates had a war useing ketchup, club orange and cream. That was funny to watch but my house is sticky now.

Yeah depends....we're having a big house party every week now...well a small gathering that turns in to a damn carnival cause we live so near the pub.

All depends who you live with I suppose.

It's all to do with a combination of luck and cop-on.
if you're in private accomadation down town, if you're unlucky to have a young family as neighbours, you're unlikely to get away with loud parties, unlike if all your neighbours are students.
If you're on campus, it depends on your flat mates and neighbours again. But if you have some cop on you can get away with parties. Just don't go smashing windows and hanging amps on full volume out the window, or hurling abuse at passers by out the window, and expect to get away with it.

TBH it's the same any place in the country in terms of what you can get away with.
The good thing about May is that because it's small, you'll meet loads of people out socialising or at the chipper who'll probably invite you to a party, whereas other universities are in big cities which are more anonymous, where you're less likely to have direct social contact with other students.
