    Hey All,

I will be getting a mobo next week that has TV out capability on board. There appears to be a round connection on the back that looks a little like a large audio jack that is the TV out.

It also has SPDIF (or something like that)....

Does anyone have any experience of hooking their PC up to the TV. I want to do it to a SCART port on the back of the TV and dont know what I need. Also, not sure whether to use the large round audio jack thingy or the SPDIF thingy!!

    Any advise appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jab

i've hooked my pc up to my tv. my gfx card came with an s-video connector. it looks like the connector on the left in that pic

as far as i know all tv-outs use that connection. you can get this adapter in maplin

    http://maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=-9471&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=29m1

that can hook it up to the scart. you need a 3.5mm jack to twin phono adapter for the sound though. And good old maplin, they sell that too

you might need a s-video to phono adapter aswell because there's two types of s-video, one with 4 pins and one with 7. the pic above is the type of adapter you might need. maplin only sells the 4 pin but pcs use the 7 pin. my gfx card came with the adapter so look around in the box for one. it'll be doable anyway so pop in during the week and we'll sort you out. There's one in the blanchardstown centre in Dublin (where i work), one near the jervis centre in the city centre and one in galway. Whichever's handiest :D
