    hey,

    just wondering if ne1 knows when the next garda auction is, heard there good for getin good 2nd hand bikes?

    my experience of it is that tons of people show up expecting a bargain but bid each other up beyond what the bikes are truly worth ... plus its usually freezing. If you are going , make sure you go along the day before to view the bikes, bring a pen and paper to take notes of the one/s you want to bid for. they are all packed in together so no chance to take it for a spin etc, its definitely buyer beware !
    and yes its in Kevin Street garda station
    I have heard (not sure how true it is) that if you have had a bike nicked and reported it to them you get either advance access or some kind of deal. Though this does seem a little altruistic.

    A public auction of bicycles will take place at Kevin Street Garda
    Station in Dublin at 11am on Thursday 10th March 2005.

    Members of the public may view these bicycles on Wednesday 9th March
    2005 between 10am and 3pm.
