That show was great.Brilliant entertainment on a Saturday night.I liked Lightning who was good on those rings and also Cobra and Saracen.I think I had the toy figures!
I didn't like Wolf,though.An angry,angry man.

The manly girl your talkin about is probably Eunice Huthardt. Shes a stunt performer now, she does all the big female leads stunts i.e. Catherine Zeta Jones in Zorro, Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider.

As for the backward escalator, that was the Travellator. Mad stuff!

Yeah Ulrika ended up with Hunter for a while, afaik there was controversy over why they finished, but thats Ulrika for ya!

as for the man- looking woman, yeah that is Eunice Huthhart.... i remember her doing a body double for Teri Hatcher (Lois Lane in Superman series) in Goldeneye i think!

Anyone remember the show where the contendors had to try cross the ceiling by swinging out of rings while the gladiators tried to pull them off. In one show jet grabbed a woman off and they both fell, the woman landed on top of jet badly injuring her. She retired from the show after that.
I read an interview with her last year, Diane something is her real name. Apparently she never fully recovered and still suffers from it, but the show completely ****ed her over when she looked for compensation.

Challenge were showing reruns of Gladiators everyday for ages up until recently. I watched it quite a lot, it's a good laugh. Some of the gamnes were great, I liked Hang Tough and the podium game where they had to knock each other down. Childish but fun. And you have to admire how fit and determined some of the competitors were.

Gladiators was the dogs bollix, although it doesnt seem like it was still going when I was 13/14 in 2000. Thought it ended about 1998 or so.

Does anyone remember that time on the rings when Wolf jumped at some contender and grabbed him round the waist, he ended up pulling his shorts off and falling to the ground? I can't remember the names of any of the events, but I remember one where they were inside giant rolling balls and had to roll over certain areas for points; one where there was a track shaped like a figure of 8 on the ceiling and the gladiators would try to catch some rope that was hanging out of the contenders; the rings hanging from he ceiling, they got different points for different coloured rings; the one where they were on ropes and had to collect coloured balls to put into baskets; the one where they had to fight their way past three gladiators with obstacles; the one where they were on a platform facing a gladiator on another platform, and they had to fight each other with these big ridiculous two-ended bludgeoning objects; the eliminator, of course - what were the other ones?
And was there a kids version of Gladiators where they had to climb up pyramids and collect fruit or something, or did I just imagine that?
