First of all komplett is a ripoff for card prices, and tbh everything irish is. As you should know agp is slowly going out the window with pci-express coming in. Heres what I advise.

Do not get anything lower then a nvidia 6800 or an ati radeon 9800. It would not be worth your while. The best agp card out at the moment in my opinion is the ati radeon 9800pro 256mb edition(or 128) It runs counter strike at 700fps and source at 500fps. Its a beast and runs everything smoothly. And if you shop off ebay you can pick it up for under 200 euro.

You might want to check your numbers there, thedoc. Also, please explain how komplett is a ripoff for card prices. Show me somewhere in the UK or Ireland that significantly undercuts them and i'll be impressed.

NO, and i mean NO graphics card will run source at 500fps. Fast forward a few years when we've got the A64 8000+ and the Pentium VIIV and maybe then, but not now. Maybe you could manage 300 on an FX-55, liquid nitrogen cooled, overclocked to 4ghz, but the CPU will be a huge limiter talking about those numbers. Please dont make up figures.

The 6600GT and the 9800pro are pretty evenly matched. I'd lean towards the 6600GT though, since it trounces the 9800pro in OpenGL games and equals it in DirectX and has nVidia's new purevideo chip (or whatever it's called) to hardware accelerate video playback.

Not that true-only dearer by maybe 20euro (only in some cases - cheap enough)

    My opinion the x800pro/xt/xt pe 6800 le/gt/ultra

But you are right the 9800 pro/xt or 128/256mb is a great card, tried tested and still winning in some cases.

Whats the budget? shop around. Jes OCUK
