    I think I'm in need of profesional help in boosting awareness of my services. Any ideas what costs are involved?

    how long is a piece of string? it would be linked in to the kind of coverage you were looking for, who your target market were and whether teh PR compnay wanted a contract tieing in your success/boosted sales with their fee. Try ringing a PR company and see what they tell you

    Go for a small agency or even a one man (or woman) band that specialises in your area. They are invariably better than the big-name agencies who will over engineer everything for you and charge you accordingly.

    How to find a reputable one?

    Ring the specialist press in your area, whatever it is, and ask one of the hacks there. They're the people who have to deal with them. They'll steer you away from the time wasters.
