They also say Denis Haysbert is "Starring in 24", but he isn't this year (though it's not impossible he'd make a guest appearance.)

I wonder if the writer has his/her facts right and isn't just guessing that because it has been shown in years past, it's just a given. I still cannot believe the RTE email denied it - or was that just based on the schedule available, which didn't stretch far enough to the point where it was due to begin?

He's signed up to do the last 6 episodes of this series.

This is good news as I don't have Sky.Even though it would be much better for RTE to be ahead of or at least level witth the episodes on Sky, it's better late than never.
If anyone finds out for certain it is going to be screened please post it as I don't trust the story on that link,it doesn't sound very definitive.

To get ahead of Sky they'd want to get their asses in gear. They'll have to do what they did in the States to get ahead.

In the States they showed the first 4 episodes in 2 days. Sky are only showing the first 2 episodes back to back so RTE have a little leeway to get ahead.

Gah! I was guessing that he'd appear! Now it won't be a shock when he does turn up (probably in the final moments of an episode!)

    Should've spoilered it. :(

It's not exactly a spoiler though is it. It's in the news that he is appearing in it, we don't know why though, and if someone does, that'd be a spoiler.

It was always on the cards that he could be in it. Not like when Nina turned up in the last one as she was meant to be on some island away from harm. That was a good shocker.

Fair enough, but considering I didn't expect him to be in it at all, I'd have rathered not know he was due to make a guest appearance. (Though I may have asked for it by criticising RTE for including his picture on their web story when he's not a full cast member this year!)

Agree it's not in the same league as Nina, but not knowing something always adds to the fun of having it revealed. (Even something relatively unsurprising, but fun, like Sherry's turning up at Alex's place near the end of season 2.)

Nina's s3 appearance was weaker for me cos her turning up was growing old hat by then. The island thing, though - IIRC, in the DVD deleted scenes for s2, she was with the Second Wave guy on the boat and kissed him in the extended scene, but as far as we knew from the televised version, she had just left the country with Palmer's pardon, right?

Yep - two episodes on Sky Sunday night at 9pm, spanning 7am-9am.
One episode per week thereafter, though I wouldn't be surprised if they doubled
up again for the final two.

    I sent them an e-mail.
    Got this reply:

RTÉ has secured the new series but it has not yet been scheduled. It could be March or later before it is considered for transmission. I can only suggest that you keep an eye on TV Listings thereafter, or contact us again in late March.

I replied that this was a bit far off and they sent this back:

Perhaps with the increasing volume of enquiries the Head of Scheduling, RTÉ Television, may review his decision.

So all you boards guys out there that like 24:start e-mailing RTE to get the new series on as soon as possible!

    March?

    well done RTÉ

Yeah I know. And notice the way it is phrased:
It could be March or later before it is considered for transmission.
"could be" and "considered". Most reassuring.
