Im going to buy a new mp3 player today or tmrw and i cant decide whether to buy a 512mb/1gig n200 or get a zen micro.

Capacity aside the n200 is smaller and has a smaller screen, has fm radio etc.

Convince me why i need a 5 gig player as opposed to one 1/10 of the size capacity wise. I listen to music a bit but im not one of these people listening all the time, i store all my mp3s on my pc.

    What do you think?

Depends on the size of your MP3 collection.. My music collection is at about 8 gigs at the moment and I am getting good use out of the Zen Micro. I actually wish I had more capacity...

i just bought a 512mb player (iRiver off Komplett) and to be honest with you i don't use half the capacity. I listen to my player for about two hours a day (1hr on the bus into work, 1 hr home). I change the music on it every week, so the larger capacity player would mean that you wouldn't need to do this. so if you've got the cash and are a lazy b*stard and/or need more than about 4 1/2 hrs of music at a time, then go with the larger capacity.

btw the iRiver on komplett comes in 1gb capacity aswell. it also has a fm radio, and support for ogg files....

Sound quality (Zen > Muvo) , extra features (Organiser etc), bigger screen makes player much easier and nicer to use (cant stomach the thought of no LCD like certain products..), touchpad, Micro is out in range of colours already... prolly some more Im missing.

Personally I think 4-6GB is the perfect size... just big enough not to worry about running out of space (unless you have a huge collection and cant stand to be away from it!) but physically small.

I have a 512MB card in my PSP, compared to the bigger players I have 512MB feels absolutely claustrophobic.

    1. the n200 muvo comes in a few diff colours also! got mine in black.

    2. screen is clear and easy to use on the n200 (although i have disabled the backlight and can use it without looking at the screen)

Get the muvo if you want a very small mp3 that wont put a noticable bulge in your pocket and that you barely remember you are carrying.

If the size of the zen does not bother you get the zen.

Both have similar battery life: but remember the n200 runs off AAAs, which may not be your cup of tea. The zen has an internal rechargablel battery.

Either will do you well, so it comes down to size and battery life: what can you live with?
