.jpeg and final print quality

text based document with one illustration saved as .jpeg. Will this turn out alright at the printers? i.e. is .jpeg an acceptable format for a text based document?

.jpg uses lossy compression so it wouldn't be the ideal format to use. It depends on how important file size is. If its not too big use .bmp.

your better off using quark of illustrator to retain optimal quality. Saving it as an image will render the text before printing, so it will not be as sharp as it can be. You are better off using a vector based graphics format such as an eps or ai file.
