After all the trouble boards has been trough its finally back up, thank god.
But not i have a problem with boards & ff.
www.boards.ie works fine but if i click to view a tread all i get is html code (im guessing thats it). i tried boards.us and it works fine.
I even uninstalled ff and reinstalled incl delleting the folder in my documents for it but no joys.
Anyone have this before, how did you solve it?

After you uninstall firefox also delete the folder C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\****.default.

If you want to keep bookmarks, before you do this go into this folder and copy the bookmarks.html file to your desktop then after you reinstall firefox copy this file back. If you have saved passwords you want to keep do the same for the files signons.txt and secmod.db.

You've got to be kidding. CAO is one of the few Irish sites that has the 'Get Firefox' logo on it. ( http://www2.cao.ie/index.php?page=myApp )

I've given up on FF 1.0 on my work laptop. I can't even access google with it.

At home, FF 1.0 is fine - both machines using XP Pro. I thought it was something to do with Microspongy ISA proxy server, but obviously not.

FF 0.9 was fine. If anyone solves this, there's a pint in it for ya!

Don't use those sites myself, but heard other people had problems and it was mostly down to the java version they had.

Hmmmm - coincidentally, there just so happened to be a java update waiting for me this morning when I went in.

Cheers Gideon - you might be onto something there.

Sounds like an encryption problem to me - they're all secure sites. In Tools/Options, click on the Advanced tab and make sure the Security options are turned on (especially SSL 3.0).

Do you get the same problems with Mozilla browser?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 35,731 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Actually, I've just noticed that the right-click context menu is broken (in all sites) on Firefox. Rebooting, reinstalling etc. don't help. I think I might have a crappy extension installed which is screwing it up.

[edit]I removed all the extensions and now it works again. Adding them one by one to see which one messed it up[/edit]

Yeah, the old o_O icon has been replaced by the ugly blue/yellow square root sign recently.
