i was just wondering if any of you have a reccomendation for a good quiet pc case , i was thinking of getting an antec sonata but maybe theres better ones out there.
my pc currently sounds like airwolf taking off and i think this has something to do with the whopping big 5 fan coolermaster case its in

Have you seen this site ? http://www.silentpcreview.com/index.php
I think it's very helpful. If anything they go a bit too far on the silence thing.

FYI I have an Antec 3700 BQE - its nice and quiet. I couldn't really compare it to any other cases.

Sonata is a nice case thou. Have 1 with 2 120mm fans hooked up to a fan controler, even at high speed the fans are ok but at low speed you dont really notice them. My cpu fan is a different story, it can run silent but full rpm and its like a jet. I got a new gfx card now which makes most noise, the arctic cooler for 9800pro's is great (if you have one) found it to be quiet enough at it high speed setting.
Great site that to mentioned above

EDIT: komplett do a antec case for around 90 with 120mm fans (front/back) and i found it to be quiet to with just the stock fan on a fan only psu out put line.

The Silverstone TJ-06 is much louder than a sonata. In that review they only say that its quiet when they disable some of the fans and volt-mod the other ones, as far as I remember. I usually have to look to see if my sonata is on or not when i walk into the room. Cant do much better than that.
