    hi,
    since the weekend every time my pc is idle for a couple of minutes that horrible blue screen comes up saying an exception occured in voltrack.vxd.

    when i press anykey to see if i can continue another blue screen comes up and eventually i have to pull the power cable out of my computer to turn it off.anyone have any idea;s or suggestions.im running win98SE.

    It could be a problem with nero, Have u installed or uninstalled nero lately?

    ya, installed it about 2 or 3 weeks ago.it was nero i got with a dvd burner. now that you mention it, the software isnt working properly.ive burnt dvd's but most times i try and do cd's it fails.
    any suggestion?

    simplest way:

    Uninstall it, leave PC idle for a minute, confirm if Nero is really the problem.
    Reinstall it and see does burning work again.
    If not, try different software.

    Do you have anti-virus/spyware/adware software too ? I think Nero can run into problems with these. Try uninstalling all of them, reinstall Nero and then reinstall your anti-virus/spyware/adware. If you still run into problems try disabling your anti-virus/spyware/adware any time you use nero.

    if you have the cd key for nero you could download an up to date version from the site and install it with the key you have.

    Once u uninstall nero if u still get the same error, nero might have corrupted the file. In this case rename the voltrack file and replace it with the voltrack file on the operating system cd! :)
