Got placed in my first online MTT this morning on VC.
Came 6th in the $7500 guaranteed, $27 rebuy tournament.

Was a very enjoyable tournament. Got paid off nicely early on with TPTK when people decided to gamble on 2nd pair, and top pair crap kicker. No rebuys for me and I got the top up.
Was at HJ's table for a while, his dodgy play with 85s was rivered by someone's even dodgier play with overcards to the flop.

Once the final two tables formed it was a case of stealing the blinds. I was lucky enough to wake up with KK and AQs when people had raised my BB, and a swift all-in here and there kept my head above water.
I was only playing the best hands, playing very tight and v aggressive, not many 3xBB raises, usually more. I raised to steal blinds several times with fairly weak hands, A7s, KJo, but my image at the table was good enough for them to believe me.
I floated around between being chip leader and 4th biggest stack, I was about 4th stack when the final table formed.

Some very good play at the final table, about 1 in 8 hands actually saw a flop, there was a raise pf every single bloody time. There was plenty of reraise-all-in blind defence, and one or two dodgy calls. I had a feeling I was outclassed by at least 4 of the last table, so played quite tight and stole blinds when it was "my turn" :)

Got lucky one time. Limper UTG, I'm in SB with A8s, I call, BB checks.
    flop comes AKJ rainbow.
Lafortezza: "The only way I can win this is by betting it..." Raise 18000
UTG: Reraise all-in (for all my chips).
Lafortezza "If he had AK/AJ he might just reraise instead of all in, maybe he has something like K10s, and think I will drop a weak A, or a similar K. Call!"
    UTG: AQs
Flop: A K J Turn: J River: 8, chop chop. So I got lucky with the chop, he got (slightly) lucky that the turn wasn't a blank if the river was going to be an 8, I'm not complaining though.

Was being blinded away, not seeing any stealable or showdownable hands, down to about 4th place out of 6.
I'm in the SB with AJo.
One before the button raises to 4xBB, any significant reraise by me would be all-in. I raise all-in, he thinks and thinks, then calls with AQs.
Flop and turn comes all diamonds, I'm praying for a flush on the board for a chop, or a J, but no such luck.

I'd recommend the tournament, $3k for first prize, 27 got paid in this mornings one, nice gentle blinds and good play, better than I've seen in the cheaper tourneys and STT's.

Thanks to dropsy and HJ for saying hello at final table!
