    Hey,
    Any suggestions on the best programme to split movie files, MPGs etc.
    Preferably one that will just split and not have to re-encode each section and take ages to do so. Nice, simple, easy to use programme.

    Thanks!

    AVI = VirtualDub
    MPG = TMPGnc

    Splitting usually wont take long afaik. Its almost instantly. Encoding the bit that usually takes ages.

    It depends on what codecs you have installed, it should recognise them all automatically.

    I went to the above link and went to downloads, I was brought to a list and the latest version as I said was from 2003, I then noticed at the side a link that brought me here. What are all the different downloads and what do I do with them? Where do I put them etc?
    Thanks!

    Hey,
    I got VirtualDub going anyway, tried to split an mpeg and it said "no video frames found in mpeg file"

    what's all that about so?
    thanks
