Just when you lucky ladies thought you couldn't be spoilt any further...

Hodges Figgis bookshop in Dawson St is now stocking 35 copies of Mr. Brunson's new book. They just came in today. I think the price is 27.95.
Submit to your earthly desires! Buy...buy... Here endeth the ad.
BTW, while you were reading this I downloaded spyware into your brain. By 5pm tomorrow you will feel an overwhelming urge to a purchase 672 page paperback.
    And to eat expensive cookies.
    I'll stop blathering now.
Buy the book, I want to get rid of 20 by Sunday.

    Cheers,
    Des

Hi Doc. Good to hear that Hodges Figgis is getting in some good poker books. However if you want to get rid of 20 of them by Sunday do you not think that you should be charging a fair price and not ripping off the Irish consumer as normal?
Your price of €27.95 doesn't compare favourably with Amazon.com's price of $22.19+8.98 P&P (€24.50 given today's exchange rates) Given that no postage and packing is involved for picking up the book in person your price should be comparable to the base price of $22.19 (€17.00) Can you advise if you have a price promise in store and and are going to drop your price to at least €24.50 to match the price of the book being delivered right to your door.
    Thanks D.

Amazon have no overheads and take from two to three weeks to deliver.

Price seems quite reasonable considering import duty these days which I got caught with the last time I shipped something from the US. Compare the price with amazon.co.uk which is 16.80 ST = €24.19 not including delivery.

Actually half the stock is at 27.95 and the other half is at 31.20! And I dont care! Coz I make no money on this personally and it was a royal pain in the ass getting them in in the first place.

We currently have the largest selection of poker titles around but the powers that be are not too fond of my ordering them in. I wont go into that now but suffice to say that, as I have repeatedly said, if u want to get them somewhere cheaper please go ahead and do so. I get stuff myself online. I have no say on prices and currency fluctuations and I definitely dont care.

Half of the Brunson books are gone now and I'm going to leave the shelves to be filled by the girl who works on that section and doesnt give a monkeys about poker. If you want books on kittens though, shes ur girl!
The best of luck but please don't ask me to enter a debate on price differences because I have -EV on all of that!
    Cheers! D.

it's the same book as SS1 except for some Mike Caro stuff you can get for free on his web site.

cheekily done 'sequel' with references to the 1st book like "As in my first book Super System....." and he then just pastes the entire chapter from the original. i didn't have my own copy of SS1 so don't really mind but if you do have it, don't bother. the only differences are commentary between chapters and some pix.
