Can you get emulators so you can play old arcarde games on a ps1?

Emulation on PS1 isn't all that great. I know that there is a Nes emulator that works quite well despite a few glitches and there is also a master system one. As for arcade emulators I don't think there are any good ones. Check out the console section of www.zophar.net for console emulators and see if the scene has changed much. I experimented in PS1 emulation about a year ago but haven't gone back since I got a laptop.

The xbox does a good job.

If you have a pc, dont muck about with a ps1/ps2 or an xbox, the emulation on all three is pretty limited and essentially pretty crap. Stick with what works.

xbox emulation is pretty good imho. xsnes9x is pretty much perfect. gensx ditto, surreal64 runs far better than most pc n64 emulators, xboyadvance runs everything(abeit with motion blur to cover the dropped frames), mameox will run pretty much anything pre 1995(discounting the midway machines) fbaxxx does a great job with cps1/2, cave, toaplan and neogeo stuff.

The xbox output to tv isn't really all that nice, if you're used to playing games at the proper unskipped frame rates, anything that requires much processing will piss you off. Limited ram, for the heavier games, but i don't suppose that matters much, it'd need much more power anyway.
Essentially, unless you're only method of emulation is the xbox, the pc is far nicer in all respects. Or if you have an unnatural liking to using those pads.

Get a crappy laptop with TV out. A 1Ghz one with a decent video card (about geforce 2 mx) should be very cheap and run practically everything up to and including N64. The choice of pad for the PC is also very good since you can use any console pad with a convertor.
