Anyone watching that series called 'Tribe' on BBC2 every monday night? A reporter called Bruce Parry goes and lives with various tribes around the world for about a month at a time. It was fantastic last night - the tribe gave him a really powerful hallucinogen and he was spaced out for a full day. It was part of an initiation ceremony I think.
Fascinating series, although that Parry guy tends to get a bit overdramatic on the narrating sometimes.

yeah i saw some of it and last week also. fascinating allright. wonder how he manages to communicate with them - fair enuff last nite they were french-speaking, but the ones the previous week were totally mumbo-jumbo.....
cool series. gotta wonder why they go through all the trouble of welcoming him into their community, initiating him and then "seeya".... wonder if they get some cash or what. That drug they gave him sounds mad. didn't like the look of the effects of it though - he looked seriously ill and weak for the whole day.....

He has a translator with him in each episode. Last weeks one, where he was with the tribe who do a bit of cannibalism on the side, was great too.
This programme is what I call great TV really. Fascinating stuff.
That drug mashed his head up as well, I agree. They were feckin' filling him with it too.

right, but what if you're talking about the real world and not this strange fantasy dimension you inhabit where lsd and marijuana are "deadly".
