    hi lads

    ok its not for copyin purposes, its only a back up as i dont want to be draggin dvds around, what kind of software do i need to rip the like of "friends" or some different films

    Why would a copy of a DVD be lighter than an original?

    I think he means to rip them to avi or mpeg so he can watch them off the hdd.

    Winavi is another one that's pretty good. It's not free though.

    imtoo dvd ripper is very good for ripping from dvd to avi(xvid, divx etc).. best tool around imho
