Good sites for bookin hotel/hostels in new york?

I'm trying www.hotels.com but alas the cheapest i can get is 81 euro per night,i'd like to spend a week in new york and for say 3 of those nights being in some crappy hostel with crack does not bother me,tips?

81 isn't a bad price.... where is that located at in NYC? and I'll tell ya if it's really good or not... I'm not too sure of many hostels, but check out www.hostels.com.. you may get lucky.... but stay out of Harlem/Bronx area... even if it's only 20 bucks a night, it's so not worth it... when are you coming over? hopefully not too soon.... we just got 18" of snow dropped on us last night...
