    Oh dear God no!
The US version of The Office will premiere in March, it has been announced.

The remake, which sees Daily Show star Steve Carell in the Ricky Gervais role, debuts on NBC Tuesday, March 22 at 9.30pm.

In the show, Carell will play 'Michael Scott', regional manager at the Dunder-Mifflin paper-supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Also on the cast are Jenna Fischer as Pam (Dawn), John Kasinski as Jim (Tim) and Rainn Wilson as Dwight (Gareth).

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant have executive produced the US version.
    So, thoughts on this?

PS - Is it me or does the backdrop in this screenshot from a future episode look like it's directly out of Wernham Hogg?

i dont think gervais and merchant would have allowed a really dreadful version of it to be made. but time will tell i suppose.

at the Dunder-Mifflin paper-supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

That's brilliant. Scranton is the Slough of America. My brother used to live there. What a kip! They've the location right anyway.

Doesn't sound the best. Anyone know anything about that American Father Ted that was supposed to happen?

    There's already a German knock-off, made without Gervais and Merchants permission;

Apparently the BBC's lawyers are looking into it

Jesus, the guy at the bottom of that german page holdin the muppets is the spit of Tim. Seein as theyre stealin the idea yid think they wouldnt make it so obvious as to actually have the actors look similiar!

Theres also a dark non German lookin geezer there. The equivalent of David Brents "office black guy" perhaps?

God,i havent even seen it and it already looks like a blatant rip

Steve Martin as Ted and Graham Norton as Dougal last time I heard about it (Graham Norton is quite the celebrity over in the US these days) but afaik it's been axed. Can't find anything online about it though :(

Anyone know if they've made any changes to the pilot that they made months and months ago. I've seen it and it's not very good. It was also supposed to have gotten a pretty bad reception when shown to the execs at NBC. I thought it had been axed after that.

good ol' dwight! classic chap. Did you know he is a deputy county sherif at the weekends? I didn't like Jim at the start and i still think he isn't suited to play the role. Brick as the boss is a stroke and a half though! The King of Forwards!

When is series 3 starting? or is it?

Yeah exactly! It's now actually better than the original, well...it's completely different.

When is it back in the States?

Little thing called the writer's strike means we don't know. There's no new episodes until that's resolved.

Anyone know what Paramount Comedy have been playing at or have I been under a rock for a month or so ?
Started watching it when they started showing it a few weeks ago and have been loving it. Then yesterday I only realised it was the second series they were showing and from tonight they're showing the first series ? First series is only a few epsisode long and they're then showing the second series again after those episodes !?!?!

Yeah it's annoying that Paramount arent starting season 3 tonight. I was really looking forward to 'Gay Witch Hunt.' It's brilliant.
