I'll ask this in here as it seems the most appropriate place. I'm thinking of buying a Creative Zen mp3 player and want to know if, like my discman, it can be powered off the cigarette lighter in my car without a specialised charger. i.e. a bog standard one that can be used with the discman etc.

    It appears that it does.

AFAIK it's not recommended to charge a mobile phone battery off the cigarette lighter regularly, the fluctuations in voltage are supposed to be bad for the life of the battery. I'd imagine it would be similar with these.

I heard the same thing about charging cell phones in cars, id stick to using the charger with the mp3 player as it might be difficult and possibly expensive to get a replacement battery foy the zen player
(sorry i called a mobile a cell phone, i just cant help myself :p )
