I was going to post this in computers but I figured people here were more likely to know the answer.

Basically I'm trying to get my Microphone working on my pc (win xp), but for some reason it wont let me. When I tried to configure it in the control panel the meter showing the volume of noise coming in was all the way to the top as if there is nothing but static coming through, it's wierd. The mic is a decent one and gives me great quality recordings when I use it on an MD or that, so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem, anyone know where to look to sort this out? Is my soundcard banjaxed?
