    hi im creating an enewsletter and i want to send a html version with an image
    - SENT to people that have signed up -

    however on testing i notice that the likes of outlook 2003 blocks image download - is there anyway around this - i tryed creating a TD style with a background image but it did not work either.

    one mail (spam mail ) i got in outlook 2003 displays the image but the html is bizzar:
    <IMG id=_x0000_i1028 height=500 src="cid:094201c4e142$d2e91bc0$a55f1dd9@home"
    width=371>

    anyone know how to do this?

    Tnx

    the easiest way around this is to send out your html email with absolute links to the images, instead of encoding the images into the email (that is why your html looks weird)

    i am sending absolute urls.

    but some clients like outlook block the image from downloading. what im looking for is a way around this like the example i gave above!

    So, what you're looking is a way to circumvent the user's wishes and/or the applications default settings?

    Don't bother trying to circumvent it. It clearly says "Outlook has prevented these images from being displayed, click here to view them", so no-one's going to think you're crap.

    It may be possible with PHP image generation, but I'd say it's not worth it.
