Anybody ever had trouble with PC World? I am at the moment. i returned an old pc, out of warranty, just to be cleaned up and reset. i was going to give it to a relation. I brought it back in September. It still has not been fixed. im trying to ring them constantly and it rings out or it is engaged. I rang last week and got through and i was told that someone will ring me back. Havent heard from them yet. I dont want to start emailing them (havent got an address anyway). I havent got time at the mo to go out to them? Anybody any advice on what to do???

never ever buy anything from PC world, i have had so much grief with them over the past few years. even a simple chore of looking for a certain product can be a complete hassle. so avoid them like the plague if you can!

Go in with your receipt and demand your pc , dont leave shop till its in your hand.

Then if not fixed demand full refund and post here wanting to know how to format and reinstall windows.

poorly run companies will not respond to phone calls or emails. They are too easy to ignore.

You will have to go in in person and be prepared to have to return. And learn your lesson. Don't darken their door again.

Can't believe there's no PC World in Cork. I mean even Waaaaterford has one. Haven't heard of any plans to open one here any time soon. What are they up to!

Why would you want one near you?

Cheap bits and pieces (as looking for a USB floppy last week and had no joy)

Don't know if I'd actually buy a PC off them, Dell usually beat everyone for price.

Last time I was in PC world was to pick up a ATI cooler that they had mispriced (cost me €5 :D) and they had a USB floppy for €80 in the OEM section.

I've found bits & pieces cheaper in PCW than komplett. I hope you've included postage in you sums. Aaaaa haaaaghh haaa yourself. ;-)

I also have got some cheap gear usually mispriced and if anyone recalls the all games $20 offer that created a stampede(odd how they never did it again)
They can be good if you know the actual price of goods and i walk by one everyday have to have a look at cheapo section.

Ya a PC world in cork would be nice to just pick stuff up if you were in a jam.
But i would never give them a PC to fix.
Quick answer go down there and freak. Companies(all companies) like that hate bad publicity and to see unsatisfied customers freak in the shop will get a fast response i bet.

Equally I've found bits & picies ie graphics cards on komplett that where 40eur cheaper and yes that did include P&P, it pays to shop around I did say it's worth a look, I have gotten some cheap pc games from them in the past.

I alos know they where chargeing 35punt to install memory that you bought from them with a pc a few years ago.
