According to the news this morning there's not gonna be a Glastonbury festival next year... Not too sure about the reasons why but there was mention of the large number of complaints from local residents and the damage that's been done to the land.....

How weird that's gonna be for people who go every year.... Imagine Oxegen being cancelled!

"Michael did confirm that the Festival plans to take a year off in 2006"

You can't cancel something that was never announced. 2001 didnt have a Glastonbury festival either. This seems to be just a choice made by the organisers not something forced upon them and it certainly isnt implying the end of the festival.

according to Eavis himself, the event takes every fifth year "fallow" like in farming terms when they just take a year out. This has been going on since 1986 so its nothing to worry about.
