I'm off to t'other side of the world in March for 7 weeks.

    Few days in Hong Kong.
    2.5 weeks in Oz, Cairns-Darwin-Alice Springs-Sydney
    2.5 weeks in NZ
    10 days in California.

Now, is there a website/medical centre I can contact to get advice on what injections I'll need (if any)

    Cheers.

p.s. advice on here is welcomed!

There's a travel health centre at Mercer Medical Centre near Stephen's Green, you could look up their number and ring them? Or just ask your GP

    !

World Health Organisation - just click on a country on the right hand menu, and it tells you what the minimum requirement is!

Found this crowd who do a country/vaccination search as well.

I'll give my GP a call this week.

I rang my doc about it before and he was clueless! One of those docs who doesnt feel the need to have a computer or even a proper filing system. I used Tropical Medical Bureau (im almost positive thats there name) on the corner of one of the side streets off Grafton St. Think its the corner where A Wear is. Anyway they were really helpfull when I rang them. I told em the countries and they told me what ones i should get, and about the optional ones like Rabies etc. Then they tell you how soon you need them etc and sort out all your appointments etc. They give a student discount too of 10% which is pretty good. Hope this helps!

The Tropical Medical Bureau in south anne street is where we went.

I'm a total big jessie when it comes to the needles. We're talking serious phobia here, so much so that i stood on the pavement outside that place trying to convince mrs. pete that i'd be fine and i'd take my chances with the polio and the malaria and what have you.

She finally got me in and they were grand. I got the two most important shots, one in each shoulder, and they didn't even have to use them horrible 'proper' syringes either.

    Sweeeet.
