I'm quite fond of Seasons In The Abyss, and just generally fond of Diabolus In Musica.

www.allmusic.com - good place to start, or else www.musicplasma.com

So, you want us to name off all 9 or so studio albums along with up to 100 songs? Its not like they've only been around within the last year or anything!

Do a google and find out for yourself. Reign In Blood is their most renowned album, but my personal fave is Seasons In The Abyss

Go with Seasons in the Abyss and Reign in Blood. Classic albums. :)

oh but it is big (the list that is) - as for being a hit with the ladies, well those drunken lushes do need a human punching bag from time to time :) either that or a nice Jabba-like creature to cuddle up to and envelop them - currently listening to the faint screams from last weekend (un)lucky contestent :)

there is nothing like Slayer live - and those mp3s go to show that even after 17 years, even after all the nu-metal bands have come and gone, bands like Slayer will be around for more years to come :)

*edit: LOL at the guy during the Raining Blood - he must have been taken back - and I quote - "f*cking 'ell" - que nervous giggle

yea slayer are one of the only band from that generation to be going nearly as strong as when they began, their albums, their live show, their judgement on what makes good metal remains to be watered down, Great band diablos in musica is their only downfall in my opinion. haunting the chapel is amazing and decade of aggression is a fantastic live album.

well not just the only band - you also have the likes of Iron Maiden, etc, that have over the past 20 years produced consisten music, ala Slayer

Cant really say i really got into Slayer much! When i was in a band ages ago all the others would be saying "Aw we should play some Slayer stuff, you ever listen to Slayer?"......Id allways say "nah i havnt of course"

Think its more down to your mans singing on it though!

I thought that Diabolas was a great album. 'Stain of Mind', 'screaming from the sky' and 'point' are amazing tracks. It also has a beautiful bass rumble all the way through the album. It'll never top Reign in Blood as their best but I think its very consistent with what they do.
I've seen slayer live twice and there was nothing like 'Stain of Mind', 'Raining Blood' or 'Angel of Death' to eat you up and vomit you back out into the mosh pit. I'd like to see Linkin Park, as...ok as they are, recreate the atmosphere of some of the truely terrifying moments of a slayer gig at one of their gigs.

Anyone remember Slayer at Ozzfest where the rain started teaming down during Raining Blood and then stopped once Slayer's set was finished? That was freaky...

no, that was THE highlight of an otherwise worthless festival.

The arguement now is should Slayer have played last instead of Tool (IMO yes they should have) - but then we would have missed the rain - but for me Slayer should have closed Ozzfest not Tool - lousy waiting time looking at blue boy in pants - zzzzzzzzzzzz

That was a nice touch, indeed. It was good too that they were on the main stage after Therapy. 2 of my fave bands almost back 2 back.

Tool were a load of arse really. They played Stinkfist early on, the only song of theirs I like, so that was ok.
Apart from Slayer and Therapy?, I was quite impressed with Mushroomhead and The American Head Charge in the small stage. Few too many sprogs running around though.
