    Egypt.. you'll never forget it..

Imagine crusing the nile at midnight.. riding on camelback at sunset.. strolling along the red sea watching the sunrise.. nothing like it for a romantic hunenymoon..

My dads from egypt, and I've heard loads of stories about it.. icant wait to go one day..

I would try travel agencies for Egypt. No links at the moment but a friend was in Cuba as part of his honeymoon and recommended it highly particularly if you have any revolutionary tendencies :p . He also suggested getting there before it changes. Personally I am a fan of the music so there's that as well. On the other hand a friend of mine went to Egypt as part of her honeymoon and found it stunning. So really it's ancient history versus slightly less ancient history. :p

I had my honeymoon in Egypt in Sep 2003. 21 days for two people and we spent about 2000 euro in total (flights spending money everything)

Spent three days in Cairo in a 5* hotel room with full view of the pyramids for around 100 US$ per night, fly down to Aswan, boat back to Luxor, bus out to the coast Hurguarda and then a boat across to the Sinai (Dahab Red Sea) for the last 9 days - seaside resort learn to dive. Unbelievable country for scenery and the Pharaohic monuments (Abu Simbel, Luxor, Pyramids) have to be seen to be believed. Keep an eye on British Airways website for deals, we got return flights for 73 pounds per person and even got World Traveller Plus seats on the return trip as newly weds.

Good value country. We went independent. If you are any good at haggling I wouldn’t go through a travel agent. As long as it is not peak season (over Christmas I think) you can have your choice of places to stay etc.

One small word of warning, dealing with taxi drivers and touts can be a little exhausting - especially if there is a blond female involved. Remember there are a lot of poor people who depend on tourists for an income so arguing over one or two euro ain’t worth it.

Thanks for the advice/tips lads...especially the British Airways one, i would never have thought to look there! I'll also drop the hint that we're newly weds and chance my arm for an upgrade!
