unable to ping

Guys, I got IOLBB about two weeks ago and it seems to be so-so.
One thing I noticed was that if I try to ping any site I seem to get the old request timed out message.

    eg.
    D:\DOCUME~1\FAMILY~1>ping -n www.heanet.ie
Pinging heanet.webhost.heanet.ie [193.1.219.79] with 32 bytes of data

    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 193.1.219.79:
    Packets: Sent = 5, Received = 0, Lost = 5 (100% loss).

If I do a tracert on the address I get no further than the standard ZyXEL router.
I have no problems accessing websites but why can I not ping addresses?
    JC

"Ping" is probably disabled in the "Security" settings of the router. Log into it and untick the check box beside it, and click apply.
You'll be hunky dory a few seconds later

No problem - it's a common problem. I had the same trouble myself at one stage :)
