Read on the paper yesterday that former Kilkenny captain Denis Byrne has been asked to join the Dublin senior hurling backroom team as skills coach.Reports said he is considering the offer .Very interesting.

Dublin certainly need a lot of help. I read in the paper today that we are now losing one of our stars, Conal Keaney. A few others have already gone. He said that he is not totally happy with the management.

Any word on whether Byrne is joining the management team in Dublin. He faces a tough job if he is.

I don't know. I only saw that bit about Keaney today in the Sunday Indo. I only glanced through it. A lot of work is needed here to get hurling into a really challenging position for titles. You have to start young and groom the hurlers as successful hurling and football counties do.
