iTunes to Minidisc

Does anyone know if it's possible to burn songs I've downloaded from iTunes to my minidisc player using Sonic Stage?

I was under the impression that the tunes on iTunes are in a proprietary format (AIFF?) and I can listen to them in WMP and on an iPod, if I had one, but since you can allegedly burn them to CD, does that mean you could burn them to MD?

Yeah, the songs are protected using an apple format, which i think stops you from playing them in windows media player aswell. you can burn a cd of the songs you want to put on your mini disc using itunes, then rip the songs off the cd to mp3's. you'll have to change the default settings in itunes to make sure they rip to mp3's (if you use itunes to rip your mp3s). then transfer them using sonic stage to the mini disc

So I have to burn the tunes to CD, then rip them back to my hd, then burn them again to the MD?

    Woah.

And they don't play in Media Player? That's not good. I assume they would play if I burned them to a CD?

    :(

Wont you need to rip them into ATRAC (minidisc format AFAIK)

The software thats supplied for the MD(Sonicstage, used to be OMG Jukebox) only supported wav and mp3, but converts to atrac as part of the export to the MD Device.
probably easier to find an AAC to wav converter...

Not to sound like a nimrod, but why would I want one of those? What is AAC? And would using a convertor be just as good as the convoluted burn-rip-burn method I have above?

AAC is the format that iTunes Store sells music in. It's Apple propietry (sp?) format.

Burn. Do you mean copy them to the MD? What MD is it?

You need to conver the AIFF's to Wav. Apple tries to stop you doing this.

You can record out from the PC sound card and into the line in on the MD.
