Graphics Problem

I'm having a graphics problem with my computer as you can see from the attachment. As soon as I play a game, the whole screen becomes a mess of polygons etc. Also I can't view any videos etc. I've checked connections and everything seems to be fine except I get these 3 lines down the screen the whole time and the pixellation. Any ideas?

p.s. this gfx card was replaced just before xmas

What card is what?
What sped machine you got?


Have you tried updating drivers?
Do you have onbard graphics on your motherboard enabled while your graphics card is running. Could be corrupting each other.


Could also be temps too high on the card causing artifacting.

Radeon 9800 pro

It's a Medion computer. I didn't mess around with the motherboard as it's only recently begun to happen.

Sound more than likely a defective graphics card. Overheating could be causing the problem. Its the most probably cause. Best thing to do is try the card in another machine if possible.

Other possibility is graphics drivers corruption. Trying downing a reinstall.
Just check your bios menu to see if onbard graphics are enabled. If so disable it.

looks mine when when ive pushed it a little too far and b0rked it

although once or twice when ive restarted for new drivers to take effect its been like that but another swift restart sorts that out so i guess that cant be your problem...

thats what im thinking but is all the yellow in the screenshot from the problem or user error making the file?

what u mean? there's no static damage that could happen if thats what you mean

I had a similar problem with my x800xt, somtimes red checkers would come across my screen. I thought it was ano over heating problem, but i wasn't overclokcing or anything. One day i was fiddling around with my computer while it was on, and when ever i touched off the wire connecting the g-card to the motherboard, it went worse, then better. Check all connections to your g-card, fiddle a bit with them while comp is on to see if it effects it in anyway.
If u think it is overheating, feel it and see iff its hot... warm is normal

i removed the graphics card and re installed it and no joy. it's still as bad as ever. i dont want to mess around with it too much in case the technician comes to replace it again!!! :rolleyes:
