a bit of a noob question here but i never claimed to know too much about guitars.

took the pickguard off my jazz there yesterday and there in the body under the main part of the pickguard (below the strings nearer the neck pickup - the place where most of the scratches are!) is a little circular hole in the wood - about the same diameter as a 20c piece and 2cm deep approx.....what the fudge is it for???? its obviously intentional but i cant find anything on the googlenet.

Probably use it to position the body during the painting process.

    Congratualtions on the job btw

Edit - there's proabably another one in the neck pocket
