The IFTA nominated TG4 Soap 'Ros na Rún' has been sold to Philadelphia television station WYBE in the United States.

The Irish language soap is a co-production of Eo Telefís and Tyrone Productions and will begin broadcasting on US television later this year with a potential audience of over 3 million viewers.

Máire Ni Thuathail, managing director of Spiddal based Eo Telefís, was pleased with the news and congratulated everyone involved in the nine year history of the soap.

"The fact that a major US television station will now be screening the programme underlines the quality and success of the show."

'Ros na Rún' is broadcast on TG4 every Tuesday and Thursday at 8.30pm.

    I'd assume they'd dub it.

Heard about it yesterday. It'll be subtitled.
They expect it to have more viewers in the States than it does in Ireland....

Yeah it a public service broadcaster, with many international shows on it.

Ros Na Run, is a good show and i think it deserves it. One of the better soaps.

    Excellent!
RNR is THE best soap out there....the story lines the cheeky story lines the humour!

None of the English or Aussie soaps copmpare as they dont have the balls to deal with the issues that RNR has.

It will be a real awakening for the Americans
