downloading linux on campus

    will comp services be pi$$ed with me if i use up about 4gig of there bandwidth downloading linux from campus?

    Not at all.

    Most big colleges have a direct link into Heanet so the bandwidth is already paid for (per month, not per meg). That's what Heanets there for.

    next q then ne ideas on how to store it because our home directory are only 50megs suppose i could bing the laptop in

    Yeah, laptop + wireless card is about the best way to go. There are few CD burners in UCD, so there's no real way of transporting the data around campus.

    Is there a Linux Users Group near you? check www.linux.ie - they usually happy to give away CDs

    Netsoc gave away knoppix. i have CD's for red hat 9, slackware 9.1 and slackware 10 if you want them.

    Laptop, portable HD (yes they work), Netsoc a/c, USB memory stick (2 gig's for €150)
