Well who else went out and bought it? I used to listen to them 24/7 back when Deicide/Legion came out, but I kind of went off them.

However I was recommended the new album, so I went out and I am glad to say I am not disappointed - a vicious, aural assault

    Opinions?

I got it a few months ago when it came out - excellent album and, as always, too short :)

My favourite has to be Once Upon the Cross though....

Not quite 24/7 but yeah I can relate to that. I picked up the live album a while back, twas ok, nothing too amazing IMO. Been humming and hawing over whether or not to get this one.

I think it's worth it - the last two albums have nothing on it.

(I own every album except for In Torment In Hell so maybe im not the one to give a "review" :) )

Ok, not 24/7, I did sleep at times - but Scars of the Crucifix is a good album, - they even have the title track as a free mp3 download at

    http://www.earache.com/bands/deicide/mp3s/Scars.mp3 (2.7 meg download)

its ok.... best described as "another deicide album"... if you like 'em, you'll like it. nothing stand out-ish, i get bored after the first 2 tracks. usually just stick on "deicide" or "serpents of the light" instead [edit] and "when satan lives", awesome live album! (so touched up in the studio tho)[/edit]

I enjoyed it quite a bit, the title track especially.

SOTC is a great album in parts can be repetitive, great opening track needs a few listens to get into the rest album, but id buy it for the scars of the crucifix song alone. pretty brutal album can hear his three track vocals alot more than usual too.
as for the live one , i think theyre great live....
    remember the gig last month?

Scars Of The Crucifix was the first Deicide song I ever heard, and it was off an Earache CD, and I had to go out and buy the album after that, and I listened to it for almost a month straight before I bought Deicide and Legion. The production sounds a bit too messy if you ask me, but still great.
