Accommodation in Paris?

I'm off to Paris in mid-Febuary on a holiday with a friend and I'm curious as to whether anyone has names for a decent hotel/B&B before I go trawling the internet.

-Doesn't really matter where its at so long as its near a Metro.

    -She'll have a toddler, so child friendly=good.

-Pricing has to be reasonable as I'm on a tight budget (my christmas bonus, such that it is, will be paying).

-Staying mid-week for at least three nights.

-Staff with a grasp of English and who provide breakfast is a big plus, although I'd be just as happy going to a cafe.

Now if any travel gurus can help with this, I'll be deeply in your debt. :)

Paris has 1,000s of hotels of all types, where to start looking is the problem.
I can't name one off the top of my head that may suite you but a good site to start is http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/parishotels.htm

And when you see a hotel you like have a look at www.tripadvisor.com to see some reviews

Stayed here for a short break last year

    France Eiffel Paris
It is exactly as the description says. No rooms have views of the Eiffel though. Not a bad area of town and loads of cafes on the main street nearby. Staff were ok and the rooms were good, clean and of course small. Can't say if they are child friendly as I don't know what a child would look for in a hotel that an adult wouldn't?

I stayed in a B&B/hotel place which was cheap and basic enough for the france vs ireland game last october.

    The hotel address is:

    Hotel antin trinite
    74 Rue de Provence
    Paris 75009

Google should sort you out with the contact details.

I meant "child friendly" in the sense that they'd provide a crib and allow children to stay in the hotel as I'm aware there's several that don't allow them.

I didn't realise that there were hotels that barred children. In Ireland that would be covered by equality legislation based on age. I have a sister-in-law living in France and I will enquire if they have similar laws.
