Key word in the title is BASIC

I'm just looking for a cheapo system to stick on the home LAN to allow another player on board (god bless Alcohol 120%, daemon and no more swapping CD's to get going!)

I came up with this on komplett.ie

    DDR-DIMM PC3200 512MB DDR CL2.5Memory 184-P (for DDR-PC400MHz)
    AMD Sempron 2200+ 1.5 GHzSocket A 333MHz, 256KB cache, OEM
    EPoX EP-8KMM5i Mainboard for Socket-AKM400A
    Chieftec Dragon Micro-ATX Tower,230W DS-01W P4 / AMD
    vanilla speakers

    and this on ebuyer.co.uk

Gigabyte GA-7S748-l SKT A SIS748 ATX Retail Box code 60092
Deluxworld M80112 4-1 Window Case Keyboard Mouse Speakers code 51402
    Crucial 512mb DDR 333MHz PC2700 Memory Module code 42149
    AMD Sempron 2200+ / 1.5ghz L2-256KB Cache Skt A Retail Box code 81997

Including delivery, the ebuyer gear works out about €25 more (@ €259)

a 120gb WD Cavier + ti4200 will be added to the above to make the setup - don't need any cd/dvd as its purely a gaming station that will use a cd/dvd emulator

Now, I know its a piece of crap for beautiful high-end gaming BUT

    1. Will it run most current games (ie LOTR BFMR, CoD, Rome Total war etc) on medium/low settings for the LAN madness

    2. Will the komplett 230w be enough? The ebuyer case comes with 350w.

    and

    3. Which do you think is the better deal?

Max spend really is €250 - suggestions welcome, but keep in mind I have the old vid card and hdd already so don't need any suggestions on those - I'm after cheap and serviceable rather than spending a little more to get better performance (though I'll happily spend less to get similar performance :D )

    cheers

    B
