So, those of you who have distantly related cousins in Canada should have gotten this episode already. McKay was his cracking self as ever :)

The swiftpost from Canada seems to be delayed slightly, the planes taking a detour on route.

    Wanna share/spoil the ep please?

    It was "ok"
The plane seemed to crash just about the 50% mark accross the Atlantic and had to be restarted... from Canada... as the plane seemed to be heavily burdened with lots of peoples cousins sending the tapes via airmail

    It was good!
I really liked this one! Now it's partially due to the fact that I *finally* got my TV-Out working meaning I watched it on my 32" set rather than 17" monitor. But I also think it was very good for a number of reasons:

    * McKay rocked. I could easily watch his full tape. I loved the way he wanted all of it transmitted for all the "real gems" on it - and then we see him waffling about cats and dogs whilst trying to talk about leadership. Also his crush on Carter, thinking about her every night and then cutting himself off :D

    * Nice to see other characters back. Was quite pleased to see that arrogant scientist return - that was a plot line that had seem left behind. I'm hoping it has some sort of impact when viewed (given this is 1x17, I'm wondering if Threads - the 90 minute SG1 8x17 episode will follow up). The German scientist was good to see again.

    * The Wraith actually seem more of a threat. Initially they seemed quite laughable but, with the directing this week and the screams and blue lights puncturing the darkness, I felt they were far more menacing than they have been. The hopelessness helps aid to what might be a cracking season finale 2-parter in 2 weeks time.

    * Everyone got something to do. Weir admirably stepped up to the responsibilites of command by paying tribute to those who have fallen. Ford got a job to do (and said his great name!) and showed his military edge by considering the ZPM. Teyla, whilst a little irritating in her demands, showed some fortitude. Sheppard again showed he's a tough sod when he needs to be and Beckett showed his sensitive side. Rodney I've covered above..

On the downside we had to suffer a number of clips, but at least they were worked in well. Good show!

    Pretty good episode, particularly
near the end in the puddle jumper, as the screams are slowly silenced
. Nice to see that asshat of a scientist at it again.

Can't wait for the finale. It's a pity the next episode looks like a filler.

In the middle of downloading this "Posted" episode at the moment . I could have gone for the 90mb http version but i think i will wait for the biggy 350mb . The quality is so much better . I avoid all spoliers cos i hate them but if this episode is half as good as last weeks i wont be disappointed

I have to say it was a good ep, I loved the bit where McKay and Weir are talking and she askes what he has fitted into the transmission. His reply.. "Everything" the look of shock on her face as she goes "Everything in 1.3sec?" and he replys ".3sec actuly"

I thought it was a very nicely put together ep. I cant wait to see the rest of the season.

Oh and the Wraith Hive ships look damn cool!

Excellent. If Stargate producers are gonna insist on doing clips/flashback episodes (I'm sure we'll see a 4th one for SG-1 before it's done) then this is definitely the way to do it. Fewer, shorter clips, intertwined with a good storyline.

Just saw it . Good episode really enjoyed the action scenes but the video dairies and flashbacks took up way too much room in the 40 minutes . The Wraith ships looked awesome . They got this new beam thats still a mystery .

I thought it was an alright episode. Like Bodan, I thought the diaries and stuff took up too much time, and was a bit repetitive. Maybe for some people, it brought home the humanity of the situation, but for me, it was just dull. My one "Woah" moment was when the Wraith ships came out of hyperspace - that was cool! It certainly adds a bit more gravity to their impending arrival at Atlantis, and silences all those "How come the crappy Wraith beat the Ancients?" questions.

Overall, I thought it was a bit of a filler episode though.

    I loved it.
The only problem I had was Tetla being a bleed'n sapbasket.

McKay was deadly, though we saw his 'caring' side and all that, he was stl hilarious.

Btw Ixoy...Zelenka is his name, also, he's Czech, not German.

Tbh, I was a little dissapointed wit hthe hive ships...to me they just looked like really, really, really big darts. They still look threatening though.

Very cheeky of them to try and pull off a clip show in their first season, though they had alot of action scenes to get them through it.
And Sg-1 got away with it....cheeky bastards.

I loved this one. I thought it was brilliant how they intertwined about a minute of comedy with a minute of "Oh my god! The wraith! aaaaah!" then straight back to comedy. Was cool. McKay as ever stole the show.

Is it just me or is Teyla just becoming extremely annoying?

I agree, Teyla is the one thing I don't like about Atlantis.
I think she should be killed off for season two, and replaced in the regular cast by Beckitt. That would be smashing.

Yeah, Teyla should have been shot for her antics, or thrown out of the jumper and left on that planet like she threathened.

And i second the replacment of teyla with beckitt, he was priceless.

"...and one thing i've discovered is us earthlings are a resiliant bunch"
"you can't say earthlings, your mother doesn't have clearance"
"she knows i'm from earth son, it's hardly a big secret!"

Just been on Gateworld and read up on some spoilers.
In regards to the above wish.
Turns out that there will be replacm, ents made in season two, Beckitt becomes a member of the full time cast and a new guiy joins Sheppards team...not replacing Teyla though...replacing Ford. What a crock of ****.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Draupnir

I thought the funniest part was:

    Beckett: "What should I say?"
Ford: "How bout Wish you were here"
Beckett: "But I dont bloody wish they were here, I wish I wasnt bloody here"

McKays wonderings of 'The Sixth Sense' were brilliant.
