So what did we make of this one? Initially, I wasn't a fan when it seemed too political. But then the Goa'uld element kicked in and we have a now possessed Kinsey on the loose (I'm assuming he escaped).

Some good stuff here: Jack was on fine form and showed the burden of power when he was prepared to go to war. I loved his initial scene with Kinsey - "Did I miss an episode?" and the way he kept trying to call his friend (I bet that voice we heard was a producers' or something). Showed his smarts again, pointing out the obvious about contact lenses/laser surgery (I would've been annoyed if they hadn't).

I guess the main problem is one they've had lately - namely wrapping up too quickly. I mean how can the Russian and Americans trust each other now? They can't leave this plot point. And is the Trust entirely defeated? What was the new Goa'ulds plan? Maybe all will be revealed in the big episodes coming up - Threads or Mobeius.

I'd rather re-watching "Emancipation". Four times.

I gave this one top marks in the poll. I really liked the action scenes, and the story had me rivited the whole way through. The lack of explanation as to what was going on was actually a plus-point in my opinion. Why are the Trust Goa'uld in-fighting, and who is their leader? Anyone associated with them could potentially be compromised, and as pointed out in the episode, they have links in Russia, America, Area 51, and the SGC itself. It also remains to be seen what actually happened to Kinsey himself. Trouble brewing methinks.

I'm not sure the lack of trust will be a major stumbling problem. Most of the paranoia was being generated by General Kisslev, and I think the Russian premier will be quite grateful to Jack for exposing him as a Goa'uld. If he was apprehended and interrogated, then all the better.

It was a good episode but the pacing was poor. With a few minutes to go I was sure this was a two-parter - with a lot of loss ends and explaining to do. Just image an American present suddenly in the middle of peace time going to Defcon 1 for no reason - oh wait, come to think of it that is pretty true to life all right :)

yeah, i thought that it would be a two part episode, it all seemed to end a bit quick, looked like it was a bit rushed, but a good episode nonetheless
