Looks like Academy Award winning actress, wife of Billy Bob (I dumped my third wife when I got famous) Thornton, and brother loving weirdo Angelina Jolie has been named a goodwill ambassador by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. I wonder if she’s wearing her vial of "Billy Bob Blood" under her little white tunic.

High Commissioner Ruud Lubbers said he believed Jolie would be able to bring the issue of refugees to the attention of young people.

"We look after 22 million people, and that is hardly known by young people," he said.

"She can show her personal commitment as a young person to convince the younger generation that something has to be done here."

Seeing as she has so much in common with young people today, how could this not be a good choice?

Honestly, if this isn't a reason to disband the thoroughly bloated bureaucracy that is the UN I don't know what is. Its about as effective as the English Justice system is (oh god, that sounded geeky).

Maybe they can appoint Roman Polanski as the monitor of pedophiles abroad.

So hang on. Your reasons for thinking Jolie isn't suitable for this position are... Erm... that she's won an academy award, the she's married to another actor, that she loves her family very much and that she's nuts about her husband?

To be honest, I don't see the problem. She's a very outspoken, very honest and very talented young woman, and if she can direct some of that into sending out an important message to young people, then fair play to her.
