Ever have something happen to you which u just couldn't explain?

I was just thinking about this last night, n 2 things came to mind, I managed to rationalise 1 but the reason for the other eludes me...

I was rock climbing near my home, not up very high only about 20ft. when i began to fell myself falling backwards!
There was nothing to hold onto so i though shít i'm gonna be badly hurt or worse when i said this to myself
    <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2"> not here, not now</font>
i'v no idea why i said it but just at that moment i felt something push me back to the ledge, not like hands or anything, i can't explain it, it was really weird experience and i just can't figure out, what happened or why!!?? confused.gif

Climbing is cool! Buy some rock shoes if you haven't got them already.

I did have something strange happen to me one night in County Clare. I was walking back the the B&B and the next thing I knew I woke up in a ditch 3 miles away. I lost several hours of my life that night as I have no memory of what occurred. Alien Abduction? perhaps ...

This topic really should be given more serious consideration, its my personal belief that such things are not beyond the bounds of possibility.
I've had one experience in my life that to this day i cannot put a rational explanation on..

It was a long time ago, when i was just 9 or 10, when i was in primary school(long time ago).
I was racing a friend around the local estate on a push bike.my bike stuck something on the road, next thing i knew i was in hospital. I had knocked my front tooth out and had a masive bump on my head.
Though i suppose i was still dazed and in shock the physical injuries were not the strangest thing.
I knew what was happening and what was going to happen.
Whats Longfield saying?, deja vu i suppose; is what you are thinking?
What was freaking me out was this, my mother had arrived at the hospital by the time i had regained consiousness and i kept saying things to her like a tramp is coming, hes going to to have a broken rib..a boy is coming in, they are going to hit his knees with an orange hammer(testing reflexes in retrospect) and on and on. She was really shocked, apprently my grandmother had these "visions" frequently, my father had had them a several times, but not in years so it never came up in conversation.
To this day that was the one and only time i've ever experienced anything like it and was very very strange, it wasnt deja vu, i was saying things were going to happen about 5 mins before they did; to someone else that was uninjured and able to verify all of it.

So maybe it took a real truama for me to access this ,but i am convinced that the mind has other abilities that most of us only ever access in extreme circumstances.

azezil, I salute you for having the guts to say this, i do believe such things exist in reality as your experience, hopefully others will share theirs too.

Longfield, ive had the same sort of thing happen to me on quite a few occasions. It hasnt happened to me in over 2 years id say, but before that it used to happen quite frequently (once every few months). They were all extremely.... strange.. experiences. Im not really sure how to express it, its like being outside of yourself and seeing things happening in a split second.. that seems to last into seconds, and sometimes minutes. The word im actually looking for is creepy. It is very unsettling to go through some of them. I would not go so far as scary, but it is unsettling.

A few times i have had whatever you want to call them - preminisons, whatever - several months before the actual event. Then, you will see things in just the 'right' place, and suddenly you will remember your preminision, and you will know exactly what is going to happen, be it for only a few seconds, or a minute or two. You know what people are going to say, you know what events are going to take place. They were all extremly vivid. Some were like the memory of an event that took place only minutes before, even though the events had not occured yet. Bear in mind that most of these are unique experiences, ive never gotten one of say, waking up, or walking to the kitchen etc. Most have been at unique events, or things that are very unlikely to happen. Its very, very strange to experience it.

I do certainly believe that it is an untapped ability of our brains, no matter how stupid it might seem. Im not really the type of person that will believe anything on a whim, but i do think that for some reason people do experience this sort of thing. It raises uncountable amounts of questions about fait and destiny. It also raises questions about if we are truly in control of our actions, or if they are allready layed out for us.

I know how crap that must sound, but if/when you do experience something like this you will not be able to deny asking yourself the same thing. I would like to believe that there is no such thing as fait or destiny and that everyone is free to set their own path in life, but whereas if i hadnt had these experiences i would have had my mind made up about the subject, deciding that there was no destiny, i cannot be sure of that now.

I firmly believe that we have this capacity in our minds, of 'powers' that are hard or impossible to explain today. We know that the average human only uses roughly 10% of their brain power, with people like Albert Einstein only using 15% at the most. You must wonder what the other 85% of that power will enable us to do, since we have achieved so much while only using 15% of the capacity.
