    Anyone recommend a good laptop repair shop in Dublin?
    Another loose DC power socket and I'm not really in the mood ... Thanks. E.

    Lomb, why do you say that? I have a HP that needs repairing, last one I sent back to HP for a dodgy screen cost their "standard charge" of 500 euro or something.
    I've got another pavillion here now that show any signs of activity when it switches on, lights come on & disk is fine but no output to the screen. Nothing happens when plugged into a monitor either. Any ideas as to who would fix it cheaply, or at least take a look?

    Open it up and solder it
    I did that with a USB port on a laptop 2 nights ago - works grand now
